I was racing on Just A Ride with the Moto Cart, right after I finished a lap and pressed shift+p, then the game froze on the pit screen, but it had nothing in it except a button.

Quote from RPDrifting :Imagine the possibility of normal maps so you could have the bun, lettuce, meat textures.

Quote from sinanju :Because of the right hand on wheel getting in way, think would look better if you placed the rev counter dial in the dash between spokes of steering wheel, and move speedometer between where you have dials placed now.

Quote from Lopyt_Music :I love this! Take this as you will because I'm not a great driver + using just mouse controls, but I find it can be difficult to control, and the lack of reverse gear sucks because its easy to spin front forward into the walls on some of my silly autocross tracks. Again maybe I'm just bad at driving. If this is still in development, I would like to see a reverse gear and maybe an upgraded suspension that doesn't have such a strange forward weight transfer while braking.

Another thing you could add is some suspensions coming to the wheels from the burger, it looks a little strange with the wheels just floating there.

Maybe this will inspire me to make a hotdog car mod haha now if only I knew how to make mods...

Thank you for the burger, tasted good but didn't come with fries like I ordered XD

I finally released a update of it with new textures, reworked suspension, new setup, etc. Hoping I actually made it better and didn't it ruin it more Smile

Quote from UniValvePlums :Any idea of what the new minimum specs could be?

That will probably change over time, as the game could be optimised more over time. At the start it might be more intensive, as it probably will be less optimised.

Quote from superlame :Frown now im a bit worried, im with laptop with intel pentium n3710 1.60ghz ( max 2.56) 4cores. ( and 2gb gpu luckily i support dx12 so at least i can run lfs after update. )

will the update affect me alot with fps / performance. since this processor is kinda lack @scawen

I think the new graphics were dx11, so most people should be fine. My laptop is slightly worse in the multi core test, but better in the single core (which is better for lfs). So I guess we will see how they perform in the new update. I will for sure report how it performs.

Fix the caster, change it from the -1.26 to like 6. The caster makes your car feel bad with force feedback

I would love a way to remind me of the events I sign up for so I don't miss them, a email could work. Like 10min before the event starts, it sends a email to the email address linked to your account.

I have found that the bottom of the bike hits on the ground when I take corners quickly and with a lot of angle, just slightly reducing the width of the lod 3 near the bottom should fix that

For me the main problem is forgetting, sometimes I will check and there is an event in 1h, maybe I start watching some youtube, making food, etc. and so I forget about its existence

Quote from kristofferandersen :Seems only cruise servers will be having this problem. They always have people online, and if they're asleep irl they'll be parked up in some carpark. Tbh, i don't think 50 days is enough since cruise servers don't restart unless they really have to. I'm sure this fix is more than enough, thanks!

I don't know about different servers, but in TC they change the map every week, so it gets reset every ~7 days. That's why I haven't had a problem with this in TC

Quote from Racon :I don't know if InSim does send that out as stated, but I use a TINY_PING every 15 seconds to keep the connection alive from the InSim end. (any packet will work, the timeout is reported as 70 seconds)

TINY_PING, // 3 - ping request : external progam requesting a reply

Yep, this works, thank you
LFS doesnt send ISP_TINY packet to keep alive?

Just kinda following the https://en.lfsmanual.net/wiki/InSim_examples#Example_.231 and changing stuff which doesnt work, it seems that I cant keep the insim from timing out, because the game doesnt send the ISP_TINY packet. Using python 3.10

The code:

# Dependencies.
import socket
import struct

# Some constants.
INSIM_VERSION = 4
BUFFER_SIZE = 2048

# Packet types.
ISP_ISI = 1
ISP_VER = 2
ISP_TINY = 3
TINY_NONE = 0

# Initailise the socket in TCP mode.
sock = socket.socket(socket.AF_INET, socket.SOCK_STREAM)

# Connect to LFS.
sock.connect(('localhost', 29999))

# Pack the ISI packet into a string.
isi = struct.pack('BBBBHHBBH16s16s',
44, # Size
ISP_ISI, # Type
1, # ReqI - causes LFS to send an IS_VER.
0, # Zero
0, # UDPPort
0, # Flags
0, # Sp0
0, # Prefix
0, # Interval
b'password', # Admin
b'^3example') # IName

# Send the ISI packet to InSim.
sock.send(isi)

buffer = ''

while True:
data = sock.recv(BUFFER_SIZE)
#print(data)
if data:
data = str(data)
buffer += data
# Loop through completed packets.
while len(buffer) > 0 and len(buffer) >= ord(buffer[0]):
# Copy the packet from the buffer.
packet = buffer[:ord(buffer[0])]
buffer = buffer[ord(buffer[0]):]
print(ord(buffer[1]))
# Check packet type.
if ord(buffer[1]) == ISP_TINY:
# Unpack the TINY packet and check it for keep-alive signal.
size, type, reqi, subt = struct.unpack('BBBB', packet)
if subt == TINY_NONE:
sock.send(packet) # Respond to keep-alive.
elif ord(buffer[1]) == ISP_VER:
# Unpack the VER packet and check the InSim version.
size, type, reqi, _, version, product, insimver = struct.unpack('BBBB8s6sH')
if insimver != INSIM_VERSION:
break # Invalid version, break loop.
else:
break # Connection has closed.

# Release the socket.
sock.close()

The print(ord(buffer[1])) in the while True loop returns these values after starting the script, leaving the pits and driving around until it times out:

Quote from AcePilot27 :Hi all!

I used to play LFS until a couple of months ago on my Thrustmaster F430 FFB (I know, I need to move to 2021) without issue.

Recently I decided to get back to it and suddenly my wheel does not have FFB anymore.
I tried several things but nothing helped - what I noticed is this:

If I install the wheel's driver, on startup and/or when I try to turn off and back on FFB in game I get the following errors:
CreateEffect Failed (1 axes)
Could not setup FF steer device

I get the following under Options -> Controls:
1 Controller Detected
F430 Force Feedback
Wheel

If I uninstall the wheel's driver, I don't get the errors mentioned, and under Options-> Controls I get the same thing but instead of "Wheel" there is "Joystick"

I am at a loss here, as in both cases I get no force feedback.
For sure on other games I get it(such as Assetto Corsa/Race Room etc)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This might be late, but u need an older driver, Imma link to my post where I fixed it, and added the driver https://www.lfs.net/forum/post/1978748#post1978748
